Ammonium Sulfate - [[NH₄]₂SO₄]
Ammonium sulphate is a fast-acting and reliable nitrogen fertiliser that contains both nitrogen (N) and sulphur (S). It provides the essential nutrients that plants need, particularly during their early growth stages, in a balanced manner, supporting root, stem and leaf development. The nitrogen in its ammonium form is easily absorbed by plants and, thanks to its controlled release property, meets the plants’ nutritional needs for a longer period. This promotes regular and healthy growth rather than sudden growth.
Sulphur content is of great importance in plants for protein synthesis, enzyme activity and chlorophyll formation. Sulphur enables plants to have a more vibrant green colour, increasing yield and product quality. It also contributes to the development of aroma and quality characteristics; it provides significant benefits, particularly in agricultural products where protein content is important.
Another important advantage of ammonium sulphate is that it supports the slightly acidic structure of the soil. Thanks to this property, it facilitates the uptake of nutrients by plants, particularly in high pH (calcareous and alkaline) soils, and increases soil fertility. With regular use, it helps improve the structure of the soil and increase the availability of micronutrients.
Usage Areas
Ammonium sulphate; it can be safely used on cereals, maize, cotton, sunflowers, rice, potatoes, vegetables, fruit trees, tea and many other agricultural products with high sulphur requirements. It supports plant growth and contributes to increased yields, particularly in soils deficient in nitrogen and sulphur, when applied as a base fertiliser or top dressing.
